EuroElite Cup 14s TENNIS EUROPE: Karl-Fredrik SÖDERBERG gets FAIR PLAY AWARD!

JUNE 02: We love good sportspersons and the decision to give Karl-Fredrik Söderberg the FAIR PLAY AWARD for our 1st TENNIS EUROPE was easy! All loved his easy-going way off the court but there is a real FIGHTER on the court who did his business with passion and poise! It is so cool that Karl-Fredrik got his FIRST INTERNATIONAL POINTS here at this event as well but fell yesterday to local favorite Filip Månsson in a hard-fought 3 setter!

JUNE 01 UPDATE: We were rained out today with only a few players getting in some games. When the matches were suspended, the scores were the following: Philip Månsson vs. Karl Fredrik Söderberg 4-1 (both Project Members), Calle Söderberg leads #1 seed from Denmark 4-1, William Malm leads German 4-1. Others were waiting to go on but could not play.

ANDREAS VINCIGUERRA did his exhibition match with Joel Åkerberg at 18:00 followed by doubles with some of the lucky players and then a 20 min question and answer session with Vinci! He especially answered questions about his junior days and what it took to become #3 in the world as a junior!

FINALLY, LARS WALLIN was our Sponsor for Players night entertainment! He brought along a clown/juggler extrodinare who dazzeled the crowd of over 50 spectators. All the players, coaches and parents were amazed at his skills with fire juggling and we are so happy to have entertained our guests. Thanks Lars!

HOPE FOR SUN TOMORROW!

JUNE 01: Today we had 4 players get their FIRST TENNIS EUROPE SINGLES POINTS! They were: Karl-Fredrik Söderberg, Mikael Yemer, Philip Hellstrand and Calle Söderlund! Great going boys! It is fun to see the guys make their first points. Jacob Svantesson was close to beating the 5th seed from Denmark and was leading 5-2 in the third but could not keep the arm from going a bit rubbery. NEXT TIME! Christian and Erik Samuelsson also fell to their Danish opponents. Then Sam Taylor fell to Appelgren and Ludwig Modin took the loss to a tough German boy. Overall a super day for the team as the matches were close but again, our guys need more experience and they are there!

TODAY: ANDREAS VINCIGUERRA will be here for an Exhibition Match with Joel Åkerberg then play doubles with some lucky participants. Then we have the PLAYERS PARTY tonight and Lars Wallin has sponsored our JUGGLER/MAGICIAN for entertainment! It will be a fantastic day here again today!

MAY 31: Well, the BIG BOYS are out now for the main draw as sign in was yesterday: We were able to fit in all the qualifying finals in the morning before the rain came. I gave VINCI a call and we agreed that he will do the EXHIBITION MATCH on Tuesday as well as having the players party so we hope the weather will cooperate. Even this morning (Monday)of the first day of the main, the courts are unplayable for now... we see what happens later.

The EuroElite BASE HOUSE is full booked! We have staying with us: Mikael Yemer, Erik Samuelsson, Calle Söderlund, Sam Taylor, Christian Samuelsson, Henrik Korsgaard, Karl-Fredrik Söderberg, Ludvig Modin and William Malm! The guys know each other well from training here and being on tours together so all is cool. After watching a movie after dinner, the boys were in bed sleeping at 21:30 get ready for their match:-)  FUN TIME.. MORE SOON!

MAY 29: SWEDENS FIRST OUTDOOR TENNIS EUROPE brought to Höllvikens TK by EuroElite has started! It was a fantastic time yesterday in the Sun at the Höllvikens TK courts and so many new talents we can see are developing. May 27/28: What a great day for ADAM SCHMIDT as he won his FIRST TENNIS EUROPE TITLE taking home the first prize with partner Fredrik Bornebush,: On the way to the win, they took out the #1 Norwegian seeds as well as beating in straight sets the #2 seeds from Russia/Finland respectively. WAY TO GO BOYS!

ANDERS HOLM (Den) has been the SURPRIZE of the tournament! EuroElite got Anders into the Main and he has not disappointed one bit beating all-comers with ease. TODAY; May 28th, he beat Joakim Bjerke the number 4 seed from Norway with 76,61 and credits alot to the mental competition training we have introduced to him at the Euroelite Tours and camps. His home club has done a super job with this as well and as a team, it is great to see Anders improve. FINALS TOMORROW!

GIRLS: Hanna Björesson and Carin Runefelt both fell in the quarters but gained alot in experience. CARIN GOT HER FIRST TE POINTS ON OUR TOUR!! We are so happy that this is happening and that we could provide through our contacts and partners, housing with Nordstrand TK (Martin Brocki). Joakim Karlsson (Furuset TK-Oslo) coach really got the ball rolling for EuroElite and coached great in the qualifying... thanks, buddy! Finally, Robert Gustafsson (Stavanger TK) was there for Anders today as I had to return to my own TENNIS EUROPE EVENT here in Höllviken. MORE SOON ABOUT THE FINALS AND OF COURSE, OUR OWN EVENT!

May 26: I have tried to write about this tour several times now with alot of writing but nothing to show for it... so I will do an abriviated blog just in case this happens again!

WINNERS are all the players who have come to this event.. all are trying so hard on the court and I am so PROUD of them!

ANDERS HOLM is still in the 16s and made the quarters today beating Jett Cash (yes.. the son of Tennis Great Pat Cash!)

DOUBLES; Adam Schmidt with Fredrik Bornebush (partner but not with EE), defeated the #1 seeds from Norway today with an exciting 11-9 final set super tiebreak to put them into the FINALS OF DOUBLES 16s!
